Ansiedad ante los exámenes en adolescentes de primero y sexto año de una escuela secundaria de la ciudad de Paraná

Abstract

Resumen: La presente investigación, de tipo descriptiva comparativa y de corte transversal, se centró en determinar la presencia de la ansiedad ante situaciones de exámenes en adolescentes, y a partir de esto, describir los niveles de ansiedad ante situaciones de exámenes en aquellos que cursaron el primer y sexto año de escuela secundaria de la ciudad de Paraná para luego realizar una comparación entre ambos cursos. La muestra total se conformó por N= 60 estudiantes, de los cuales 30 pertenecieron a primer año y 30 pertenecieron a sexto año; lo que representa el 50% de la muestra en ambos casos. Respecto al sexo, 27 son varones y 33 son mujeres, lo que constituye el 45% y el 55% de la muestra, respectivamente. El instrumento de medición utilizado fue el “Inventario Alemán de Ansiedad frente los Exámenes”, adaptación al español: GTAI-A. (Heredia, Piemontesi y Furlán, 2008). La interpretación de los resultados demostró índices muy similares entre ambos cursos en los niveles de ansiedad manifestados frente a situaciones de exámenes. No obstante, este estudio comprobó que existen diferencias significativas en los niveles de ansiedad según el género, presentando mayor nivel de ansiedad las mujeres que los varones. En la discusión se analizan estos hallazgos y se brindan recomendaciones para estudios futuros.

Abstract: The present investigation, of a comparative descriptive and cross-sectional type, focused on determining the presence of anxiety before exam situations in adolescents, and from this, describe the levels of anxiety before exam situations in those who attended the first and sixth year of high school in the city of Paraná to then make a comparison between both courses. Our sample consisted of 60 students, half of which were in first year and the other half in sixth year; thus, each group represents 50% of the sample. Regarding their sex, 27 were men and 33 were women, which constitutes 45% and 55% of the sample, respectively. The measuring instrument used was the “Inventario Alemán de Ansiedad frente los Exámenes" (Heredia, Piemontesi y Furlán, 2008). The results have shown similar rates in both courses with respect to the levels of anxiety seen before exam situations. However, this study proved that there are significant differences in the levels of anxiety with respect to gender, as women presented a higher level of anxiety than men did. These findings were analyzed in our discussion and recommendations were provided for future studies.
