Investigación del uso de los fidget spinners en sujetos con y sin trastornos de déficit de atención por hiperactividad

Abstract

Resumen: Los Fidget Spinners se componen como juguetes de mano con fines de liberación de stress, se asientan en un rulemán y tres brazos con pesas en los extremos. Se escogieron 20 individuos, agrupados en cuatro conjuntos de cinco integrantes cada. Los criterios de inclusión han sido presentar al menos cinco síntomas de los descriptos en el DSM 5 (APA, 2014) para configurar un diagnóstico presuntivo de Trastorno por Déficit de Atención con Hiperactividad para diez de los miembros. Los diez restantes seleccionados de modo oportunista no presentaban esta sintomatología. Con relación al uso del dispositivo los resultados obtenidos no demuestran un cambio significativo ligado a su utilización.

Abstract: Fidget Spinners are defined as toys designed with the goal of stress relief, they consist of a ball bearing and three arms with weights at the ends. 20 individuals were chosen, sorted into four groups of five members each. The inclusion criteria have been to present at least five of the symptoms described in the DSM 5 (APA, 2014) to obtain a presumptive diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder for ten of the members. The other ten selected opportunistically did not present this symptomatology. Regarding the use of the device, the results obtained do not show a significant change linked to its use.
