Abstract: This paper deals with the psychological development of children with Cerebral Palsy, while, at the same time the usual knowledge about the psychological development in humans is questioned and contributions are made to it. The typical psychological development (“normal”) is compared by following six areas: i.e., motor, perceptive, communication, cognitive, emotional and motivational and personal and social development. In usual development, these interact by progressing in a global way and in a certain order, from motor development up to the personal social one. Instead, Cerebral Palsy causes a systematic impairment in supporting limbs in general, causing difficulties in tone and balance, reducing opportunities for a triadic interaction and for a communication initiative, thus affecting other processes. One of the challenges æamong othersæ is the access to the reading-writing process.
