Confianza institucional y el rol mediador de creencias y valores

Abstract

Resumen: la realidad psicosocial de un fenómeno se define sobre la base de la significación que las personas atribuyen en tanto representación social de los hechos. Con el objetivo de indagar en los niveles de confianza institucional, la percepción de los problemas sociales y el rol mediador de las creencias y los valores, se desarrolló un estudio correlacional en base a una muestra no probabilística intencional compuesta por 254 estudiantes universitarios de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Los datos muestran una alta desconfianza institucional siendo los partidos políticos y el poder legislativo las instituciones que más desconfianza suscitan. El trabajo y la inseguridad aparecen como los problemas sociales más preocupantes. El posicionamiento ideológico, la religión y la práctica religiosa señalan diferencias en los niveles de confianza respecto a algunas instituciones, como a su vez en los problemas sociales percibidos como más importantes.

Abstract: The psycho-social reality of a phenomenon is defined on the basis of the meaning people assign to it insofar as it is the social representation of facts. A correlational study was developed based upon a non-probabilistic intentional sample composed of 254 university students from the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, aiming to investigate the levels of institutional confidence, perception of social problems and the mediator role of beliefs and values. Data show a high incidence of institutional mistrust in which political parties and the legislative power are the institutions that cause more distrust. Work and safety emerge as the most disturbing social problems. The ideological standpoint, the religion and the religious practice reveal the differences in trust levels with respect to some institutions, as well as, in those social problems regarded as the most important ones.
