La pérdida del sistema de casos en la lengua latina : algunas propuestas explicativas de los siglos XX-XXI

Abstract

Resumen: a lo largo del siglo XX y lo transcurrido del presente, estudiosos de la lengua latina de época tardo-antigua y medieval e historiadores de las lenguas romances procuraron describir las diversas etapas que atravesó el sistema de casos y explicar las causas de su desaparición. Considerando los alcances y limitaciones de sus propuestas, nos proponemos examinar distintas aproximaciones a este fenómeno, muchas veces tributarias de las teorías elaboradas en el siglo XIX para explicar el origen del sustantivo románico.

Abstract: During the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st century scholars interested in the latin language of Late Antiquity and medieval times attempted to describe the different stages that the case system went trough and explain the causes of it’s loss. By weighing up the achivements and limitations of their statements, we will review different approaches to this phenomenon -often indebted to the theories that raised in the 19th century.
