Reflexiones sobre la argumentación en los debates en torno a la vida

Abstract

Resumen: En el debate público acerca del aborto hay muchos buenos argumentos en su contra. Sin embargo, no todos tienen la misma relevancia práctica, a la hora de incidir en las decisiones colectivas en la materia. Diversas clases de motivos hacen que algunas de esas buenas razones no tengan hoy en día suficiente fuerza persuasiva para generar convicciones sociales relevantes sobre el punto. En consecuencia, la argumentación debe estar a la altura de la cultura de nuestro tiempo, si se quiere defender eficazmente los buenos principios. Debemos escoger cuidadosamente solo los mejores argumentos, conforme lo sugieren las reglas de la ciencia pragmática. Indagar cuáles serían los argumentos más convenientes en esta materia, constituye el propósito de este trabajo.

Abstract: In the public discussion about the abortion there are many good reasons against it. Nevertheless, not all have the same relevance practical, in order to affect the collective decisions in this matter. Different kinds of causes do that some of those good reasons do not have today sufficient persuasive force to generate relevant social convictions. Therefore, the argumentation must be around the culture of our time, if it is wanted to defend effectively the good principles. We must choose carefully only the best arguments, according to suggest the rules of the Pragmatic science. To investigate the most advisable reasons in this matter is the intention of this work.
