Acercamiento a los principios estéticos de la obra instrumental de María Teresa Luengo (1940-)

Abstract

Resumen: Este artículo propone un acercamiento a los principios estéticos sobre los cuales la compositora argentina María Teresa Luengo desarrolló su lenguaje musical instrumental. Si bien en su extensa carrera artística Luengo se concentró fuertemente en la música electrónica, electroacústica y los medios mixtos, en los años recientes volvió a revisar, recomponer y crear obras para instrumentos analógicos en formaciones solistas y conjuntos de cámara. Desde el 2014 comenzamos un trabajo en conjunto el cual nos ubicó en una relación personal y profesional privilegiada de profundo y mutuo afecto y respeto, gracias a la cual tuve la oportunidad de conocer de primera mano no sólo su forma de trabajo y proceso creativo, sino también los elementos que constituyen las bases de su estética musical.

Abstract: This article offers an approach to the aesthetic principles on which the Argentine composer María Teresa Luengo developed her instrumental musical language. While Luengo’s extensive artistic career focused mainly on electronic and electroacoustic music, as well as music with mixed media, she has returned to revising, recomposing, and creating works for analog instruments in solo formations and chamber ensembles, in recent years. Since 2014 the composer and myself began working together, during which time we developed a profoundly personal and professional relationship of deep and mutual affection and respect. During that time I had the opportunity to get to know first-hand not only her work and creative process, but also understand the elements that constitute the bases of her musical aesthetics.
