Resumen : The setting is known: Esau came back exhausted from the countryside and saw his younger brother Jacob cooking a stew. So he asked Jacob to feed him with that red (adom in Hebrew) stew; Jacob agreed but only after trading the stew for Esau’s birthright. This is why, the story goes, Esau was known as Edom.
