Judaísmo y ecología: responsabilidad ambiental entre la producción destructiva y la idolatría naturista

Abstract

Resumen: Distintos preceptos bíblicos, según las interpretaciones de algunos ambientalistas, dan a la especie humana una tan irrestricta como absoluta potestad sobre la naturaleza, y por ello la cultura bíblica es considerada por aquellos la causa de la corrupción actual del medio ambiente. En este trabajo, el Rab. Dr. Fishel Szlajen, no sólo analiza dicho fenómeno cmo una interpretación descontextualizada y tendenciosa del propio marco cultural y lingüístico al cual pertenecen dichos preceptos, sino también investiga y expone, mediante referencias a las fuentes más importantes como prístinas del judaísmo, más sus relevantes filósofos y/o exégetas, el acervo prescriptivo y proscriptivo dentro del cual algunos de los tópicos más importantes de dicha cultura en relación al hombre y su medio ambiente muestran el camino hacia la rectificación conductiva. Este marco propuesto por el judaísmo resulta en un vigente mensaje de equilibrio y mesura para toda la sociedad, por un lado, en pos de lidiar con la actual y grave situación ambiental; y por el otro, para el renovado neo-paganismo manifiesto en ciertos movimientos ambientalistas radicales, quienes trasladan, polarizando, el problema de la moderna egolatría al postmoderno Deus sive natura.

Abstract: According to the interpretation of some environmentalists, different Biblical precepts give the human kind an unrestricted and absolute authority over nature, that is why the Biblical culture is considered to be the cause of the present corruption of the environment. In this work, Rabbi Dr. Fishel Szlajen, not only analyzes such phenomenon as a decontextualised and biased interpretation of the cultural and linguistic framework to which such precepts belong to but, by means of references to the most important and pristine sources of Judaism, and its relevant philosophers and/or exegetes he also researches and presents the prescriptive and proscriptive tradition within which some of the most important topics in relation to human beings and their environment show the way toward the conductive rectification. On the one hand, this framework proposed by Judaism results in a current message of balance and moderation for the society as a whole; on the one hand to deal with the present environmental serious situation; and on the other, with the renewed new-paganism seen in some radical environmental movements, which by polarizing, move the problem of the modern egocentricity to the postmodern Deus sive natura.
