Mariano Sánchez de Loria, congresal de 1816

Abstract

Resumen: bicentenario de la independencia es un momento oportuno para recordar a los diputados que firmaron la histórica acta del 9 de julio de 1816 en el Congreso de Tucumán. Mariano Sánchez de Loria —que pertenecía a una antigua familia hispano-criolla— fue uno de ellos, diputado por Charcas (Alto Perú, hoy Bolivia), se incorporó al congreso en la sesión del 5 de junio. Fue un decidido partidario de la forma monárquica de gobierno, inclinándose por la restauración incaica. Cuando enviudó hacia 1817 dejo de asistir a las sesiones y regresó a su tierra natal en donde profesó como sacerdote; fue canónigo de la Catedral de Charcas y falleció en Pocobamba ejerciendo el curato en ese distrito del Departamento de Potosí el 2 de agosto de 1842.

Abstract: The bicentenary of independence is appropriate to remind members who signed the historic act of July 9, 1816 at the Congress of Tucuman. Mariano Sanchez de Loria, was one of them, deputy for Charcas (Alto Perú, Bolivia), he belonged an old hispanic-creole family. He joined the Congress in session on June 5. It was a strong supporter of the monarchical form of government, leaning Inca restoration. When widowed around 1817 he leaves to attend the sessions and returned to his homeland where he professed as a priest. He was canon of the Cathedral of Charcas and died in Pocobamba exercising the parish in the district of the Department of Potosi on August 2, 1842.
