La fe en un contexto correccional : situación de las mujeres privadas de libertad

Abstract

Resumen: El trabajo forma parte de la investigación grupal La experiencia de fe de mujeres privadas de libertad. Estudio de caso en el Instituto de Recuperación de mujeres, Unidad 5, Rosario, en el marco del proyecto de investigación Teología Urbana: prácticas de espiritualidad popular. La prisión ha sido estudiada olvidando, muchas veces, a las mujeres o simplemente homogeneizando las diversas realidades que poseen las reclusiones masculinas y femeninas. La cárcel muestra de qué manera la exclusión de género se construye enlazándose con otras exclusiones, como la de etnia, clase, estatus. El trabajo tiene como objetivo, por un lado, la visibilización de las violaciones de los derechos de las mujeres detenidas, y por el otro reflexionar sobre el sistema penitenciario como un mecanismo de control y corrección social. Desde esta perspectiva correccional se considerará el lugar de la fe cristiana propuesta por las instituciones religiosas presentes en las cárceles. El trabajo también analiza una perspectiva de vivencia de la fe cristiana bajo la mirada de Michel de Certeau que resulta iluminadora en este contexto.

Abstract: The work is part of the group investigation The experience of faith of women deprived of liberty. Study of a case in the Women Recovery Institute, Unit 5, Rosario, within the framework of the research project Urban theology: Practices of popular spirituality in Rosario and Buenos Aires. The prison has often been studied forgetting women, or simply homogenizing the different realities that male and female reclusion have. Jail shows how gender exclusion is built, together with other exclusions such as ethnicity, class, and status. The work has two aims: to make visible the violations of the rights of women in detention, and to think about the penitentiary system as a mechanism of social correction and control. From this correctional perspective, Christian faith proposed by the religious institutions present in jails shall be considered. The work also analyzes the perspective of the experience of Christian faith from Michel De Certeau’s point of view, which seems enlightening in this context.
