Extranjeros y refugiados” (1 Pe 2,11; cf. Gn 23,4) : reflexiones sobre un desafío de nuestro tiempo a la luz de la Escritura

Abstract

Resumen: Uno de los “signos de nuestros tiempos” es sin duda el fenómeno migratorio, acentuado con las migraciones forzadas que resultan en millones de personas viviendo en la condición de refugiados. Ante esta situación, el Obispo de Roma reclama insistentemente una respuesta de la sociedad y de la Iglesia. El presente aporte estudia algunos de los innumerables textos bíblicos que tratan el tema del “otro”, del extranjero, del extraño y la relación con él. Teniendo en cuenta la variedad de perspectivas y de respuestas que se dan en la Escritura, y con ayuda de un marco teórico tomado de las ciencias sociales, propondremos una clasificación de los textos que ayude a comprenderlos y encontrar en ellos una lógica que nos permita rescatar el mensaje bíblico para nuestra realidad actual.

Abstract: One of the “signs of our time” is undoubtedly the migratory phenomenon, accentuated by forced migrations that result in millions of people living as refugees. Faced with this situation, the Bishop of Rome insistently demands a response from society and the Church. The present contribution studies some of the innumerable biblical texts that deal with the theme of the “other”, the foreigner, the stranger and the relationship with him/her. Taking into account the variety of perspectives and answers that are given in the Scripture, and with the help of a theoretical framework taken from the social sciences, we will propose a classification of the texts that helps to understand them and find in them a logic that allows us to rescue the biblical message for our current reality.
