Revolución en religión: Historiografía e Ilustración en tiempos convulsos : El deán Funes y los temores al desorden social

Abstract

Resumen: El artículo presenta las visiones historiográficas más usuales sobre el deán Funes, especialmente aquellas que lo vinculan a la Ilustración y lo señalan como el representante de Córdoba en el orden nuevo. Luego se presentan las críticas que esas visiones recibieron desde diversas corrientes. Ante la imagen del clérigo comprometido con las ideas de la Ilustración, adherido al modernismo y lector de Rousseau, aquí se enfrenta la de un hombre temeroso del desorden y los cambios sociales abruptos, que pretendió insertar la revolución dentro del catolicismo

Abstract: The article describes the most common historiography´s views about the Dean Funes, particularly those that link him to the Enlightenment and mark him as the representative of Cordoba in the new order. Then presents the critiques that these visions received from other currents. Against the image of the cleric compromised whit the ideas of the Enlightenment, modernism and reader of Rousseau, this article proposes the image of a man fearful of social disorder and abrupt changes, who tried to insert the revolution within Catholicism
