La lettera di Mara bar Serapion : linee introduttive, traduzione e note essenziali

Abstract

Riassunto: II presente articolo offre un' analisi e una traduzione della lettera siriaca scritta da Mara, figlio di Serapion, a suo figlio studente. L'attenzione storica del documento e sui suoi contenuti filosofici. Un aspetto particolannente interessante in esso e la menzione di Gesu Cristo ("il re saggio di Giudei") tra alcuni esempi di filosofi che furono perseguitati ingiustamente ma furono ricompensati e vindicati dalla giustizia di Dio.

Abstract: The present article provides an analysis and a traslation of a Syriac letter by Mara, son of Serapion, to his own son, who is a student. The attention is focused on the historical setting of the document and its philosophical contents. A particulary interesting aspect in it is the mention of Jesus Christ ("the wise king of the Jews") among some examples of philosophers who suffered unjust persecution but were rewarded and revenged by God's justice.
