Los monstruos y los lugares de maravilla

Abstract

Resumen: Los mirabilia son uno de los ejes vertebradoresde la cultura medieval en cuanto remite a una peculiar y abarcativa concepción del universo que incluye lo extraño, lo maravilloso y lo sobrenatural. En ella los animales reales y los imaginarios concentran una multiplicidad de sentidos y dan cuenta de distintas realidades. En este artículo hemos tomado al dragón para ejemplificar la capacidad funcional y simbólica del animal arquetípico del mal.

Abstract: The mirabilia are one the axes of the Middle Age's culture as it returns of a peculiar and a complete coneeption of the universe which includes the strange, the wonderful and the supernatural. In the mirabilia, the real and the imaginaries animals are concentred on the sense of multiplicity and show the different realities. In this article we have taken the dragon to exemplify the funetional and symbolic capacity of evil archetype animal.
