This article argues that Blaise Pascal plays not merely a critical or historical role in the work of Jean-Luc Marion, but a structural one in the formulation of his phenomenology of givenness. Through an analysis of three key conceptual axes—the hierarchy of the three orders, the relationship between evidence and charity, and the distinction between ego and moi—the article shows how Pascal provides the conditions for rethinking phenomenality beyond the limits of metaphysics. Rather than rejecting the phenomenological tradition, Marion reinterprets it from a Pascalian horizon, where givenness becomes the original principle ofmanifestation. In this light, Pascal's thought enables a critical reconfiguration of classical figures of subjectivity (transcendental ego, Dasein) and grounds a hermeneutic variation that articulates the passage between objects and events.
