A 60 años de Perfectae caritatis Perspectivas de recepción en América Latina

Abstract

El decreto Perfectae caritatis es el resultado de una amplia y profunda reflexión eclesial sobre la vida religiosa y su renovación adaptada. Al cumplirse 60 años de la aprobación unánime de este documento conciliar resulta oportuno revisitar los aspectos fundamentales del decreto, con particular atención a los principios de renovación y algunos aportes de los obispos latinoamericanos. Este esbozo permite considerar, posteriormente, diversas etapas de la recepción en América Latina al hilo de las conferencias generales del episcopado y las voces de religiosos y religio- sas que pueden reconocerse como intérpretes. Al final del recorrido, se decantan las principales perspectivas receptivas y se plantean algunos desafíos emergentes a profundizar en estos tiempos sinodales.

The decree Perfectae Caritatis emerged from a broad and profound ecclesial reflec- tion on religious life and its renewal in adaptation to contemporary times. Sixty years after its unanimous approval by the Second Vatican Council, it is fitting to revisit the fundamental aspects of this conciliar document, with particular atten- tion to the principles of renewal and the specific contributions of Latin Ameri- can bishops. This study outlines key elements that help frame the various stages of reception in Latin America, especially in the context of the general episcopal conferences and the voices of religious men and women who can be recognized as significant interpreters of the decree. In conclusion, the paper distills the main perspectives of reception and proposes several emerging challenges for further re- flection in today’s synodal context.
