El haiku y la intuición intelectual

Abstract

Signados por la marginalidad y una vida abierta a la intemperie, los haijin —poetas del haiku— se consagran a la meticulosa y ardua labor de reflejar sobre la tinta jirones de realidad ‘tal cual son’. La traslación supone una comprensión (sea entendimiento o mera percepción) inmediata que, acorde a una de las características centrales del Zen —filosofía de cabal importancia en el decurso histórico del haiku—, intenta superar la conceptualización, reduciendo al mínimo la distancia entre la forma de expresión y lo expresado. El presente trabajo pretende abordar la instancia creativa del haijin, la ‘intuición intelectual’ que materializa la escritura, sirviéndose de los haikus y diarios de viaje del poeta inaugurador Matsuo Bashō, ahondando en las condiciones de existencia de los poetas en general y Bashō en particular, y exhumando las tradiciones filosófico-religiosas que comportan el trasfondo gnoseológico de la experiencia trascendental oriental.

Marked by the marginality and a life in the open, the haijin —poets of the haiku— consecrate themselves to the meticulous and arduous labor of reflecting on the ink shreds of reality ‘such as they are’. The translation supposes an immediate comprehension (be it understanding or mere perception) which, according to one of the central characteristics of the Zen —philosophy of complete importance in the haiku’s historic course—, attempts to surpass the conceptualization, reducing to the minimum the distance between the form of expression and the content expressed. This paper aims to undertake the creative instance of the haijin, the ‘intellectual intuition’ which materializes the writing, making use of the haikus and the travel diaries of the inaugurating poet Matsuo Bashō, penetrating in the conditions of existence of the poets in general and of Bashō in particular, and exhuming the philosophical and religioustraditions that involve the gnoseological background of the oriental transcendental experience.
