¿Qué se entiende por “lógica epistémica”?

Abstract

Este artículo busca definir el término “lógica epistémica” y sintetizar sus principales nociones, considerando a esta lógica como un estudio formal de las “actitudes epistémicas” (tales como conocimiento y creencia, entre otras). Consecuentemente, para distinguir a la lógica epistémica de otros estudios formales (cuyo objeto de estudio también son las actitudes epistémicas) se ubicará como eje principal la semántica de los mundos posibles. A su vez, se hará una diferenciación de la lógica epistémica respecto a la lógica modal, haciendo hincapié en sus diferencias estructurales. Por último, se mostrarán los principales axiomas de la lógica epistémica, y los principales sistemas que pueden ser formados a partir de estos.

This paper seeks to define the term “epistemic logic” and synthesize its main notions, considering this logic as a formal study of “epistemic attitudes” (such as knowledge and belief, among others). Consequently, to distinguish epistemic logic from other formal studies (whose object of study are also epistemic attitudes), the semantics of possible worlds will be located as the main axis. In turn, a differentiation will be made between epistemic logic and modal logic, emphasizing their structural differences. Finally, the main axioms of epistemic logic will be shown, and the main systems that can be formed from these.
