Las variantes manuscritas illas/illa en el proemio de Metamorfosis de Ovidio: aproximaciones críticas y filológicas entre los siglos XIX y XXI

Abstract

El inicio y el final de las obras literarias antiguas poseía un valor significativo en términos programáticos. En el proemio de Me- tamorfosis de Ovidio se le informa al lector que el tema principal de esta obra es el cambio desde el inicio del mundo hasta la época del poeta. Pero se presenta aquí un problema de manuscritos, las variantes illas/illa. El objetivo del presente trabajo consiste en analizar el deve- nir crítico y filológico de estas variantes manuscritas en el segundo verso del proemio de Metamorfosis de Ovidio. Para ello, se realizará un recorrido por las principales ediciones de la obra entre los siglos XIX y XXI y las discusiones acerca de las variantes.

The beginning and the end of literary ancient works had a significant value in programmatic terms. The proem of Ovid’s Meta- morphoses informs the reader that the main subject of the work is the change from the beginning of the world until the poet’s times. But here a problem of manuscripts appears, the variants illas/illa. The aim of this paper is to analyze the critical and philological course of these manuscript variants in the second verse of the proem of Ovid’s Meta- morphoses. In order to achieve that, it will go through main editions of the work between the nineteenth and twenty-one centuries and discus- sions about variants.
