El financiamiento de la educación superior : propuestas para Argentina

Abstract

El objeto del presente trabajo es brindar argumentos teóricos y prácticos que apoyen el establecimiento de un arancel para las universidades públicas en Argentina. Se concluye, al final del trabajo, que un sistema educativo universitario estatal gratuito, no sólo no ayuda a los más humildes, sino que los perjudica al quitarles valiosos recursos monetarios a través de impuestos; que la mayoría de los países arancelan sus universidades; y que las propuestas hechas para Argentina, no sólo son eficientes, sino que además son éticamente deseables.

The objective of this paper is to provide theoretic and practical arguments to support the promotion of tuition-fees for public universities in Argentina. The conclusion of this research is that a free public educational system not only does not help the poor, but it puts them in a worse position by taking away valuable monetary resources from them through taxes; that the majority of the countries charge their students for their higher education; and that the proposals done for Argentina are not only efficient but, what’s more, are ethically desirable.
