Elseworlds y Ucronías: ¿Qué le pasó al Hombre del Mañana? Una lectura decolonial

Abstract

Se propone un análisis comparativo sobre las representaciones de DC Cómics (en adelante, DC) haciendo énfasis en la figura de Superman. En este cruce de lecturas se busca dar cuenta de los ejercicios en torno al poder desde una mirada decolonial. Las fuentes a considerar son el cómic Superman Red Son de Mark Millar y la novela Kryptonita de Leonardo Oyola. La pregunta principal es qué le sucedió al Hombre del Mañana. Se contrastarán las representaciones de este mito propio de la cultura de masas desde diversas perspectivas, tanto desde la lectura sobre las utopías fallidas que propone Susan Buck-Morss como desde las epistemologías del Sur, del Grupo Modernidad/Colonialidad.

A comparative analysis is proposed about the DC comics representations (hereinafter, DC), although emphasizing the Superman’s figure. At this point of convergence of readings, the objective is to shed light on the practices of power from the decolonial studies. The main sources are the comicbook Superman Red Son by Mark Millar and the novel Kryptonita by the Argentinian writer Leonardo Oyola. The main question is whatever happened to the Man of the Tomorrow? Different representations of this Mass culture myth are contrasted from different points of view: from the Susan Buck-Morss’ perspective of failed utopias or from the Group Modernidad/Colonialidad, and the approach of epistemologías del Sur.
