Mercado, Estado y Sociedad Civil : de Centesimus Annus a Caritas in veritate

Abstract

Resumen: el autor se propone analizar, en diálogo con el pensamiento político, las enseñanzas de Benedicto XVI sobre las relaciones entre el mercado, el Estado y la sociedad civil. A tal fin compara el capítulo cuarto de la Encíclica Centesimus Annus con el capítulo tercero de Caritas in veritate. Profundizando las enseñanzas de Juan Pablo II, la nueva Encíclica se pregunta por las consecuencias de la globalización sobre estas instituciones y sostiene que tanto el mercado como el Estado requieren de una política informada por la lógica del don.

Abstract: The author intends to explore, in dialogue with political thought, the teachings of Benedict XVI on the relationship between market, State and civil society. To this end he compares the fourth chapter of the Encyclical Centesimus Annus with the third chapter of Caritas in veritate. Deepening John Paul II’s teachings, the new Encyclical wonders about the consequences of globalization on these institutions and argues that both the market and the State require a policy informed by the logic of the gift.
