Abstract: The spiritual experience of Ignatius of Loyola, in the context of the 16th century, continues to offer a source of wisdom and apostolic richness to this day. This article explains how the Spiritual Exercises lay the foundations for living in depth a bond with God that moves us to order our lives, to discover how God acts in us and how he configures us in his own way. The journey proposed by the Autograph Book of the Exercises contemplates the Principle and Foundation, the four Weeks and the Contemplation to attain love, as well as the different rules and notes that help in the path of discernment. Spiritual discernment, the particular perspective of this study, is not understood as a simple methodology or technique, but as a way to live as beloved daughters and sons of the Father, to “love and serve in all things”, with a preferential love for the poorest of the poor. |
