Miracle, magic and marvel are words that have always inhabited human mind, even today ,
in the most diverse circumstances . Throughout time and space, men have searched explanations,
theories and arguments to calm themselves down ; in spite of that, there always existed a place ,
another world in which imagination built and constructed its fortress of marvelous magical miracles
that help to stand the most difficult human situations . The Middle Ages are a privileged scenery
for the imagery of man to develop, take pleasure and tremble at the sight of heavenly or phantomlike apparitions, invoked or appeared apparently out of nothing . Everything converges to a point
in which the spirit terrorizes itself in a deep attitude of surprise and fascination . Medieval fiction
has not escaped from the spell of marvel .
thanks to apparitions and effects that are not always predictable . Its papes show a variety of what
can be called the Christian marvelous and what this meant to link the legendary Swan Knight with
the genealogy of Godofredo de Bouillon, hero of the First Crusade. |
