Yoshio Shinya : un argentino de espíritu

Abstract

Resumen: Este trabajo se enfoca en un proceso inmigratorio que en Argentina no ha tenido gran repercusión al compararse con los volúmenes de la inmigración más popularizada, pero que posee rasgos y características singulares. Nos referiremos a los orígenes de la inmigración japonesa. Para ello elegimos la figura de Yoshio Shinya, presentándolo como el primer inmigrante proveniente del Imperio del Sol Naciente. En él, se rescata un trabajo intelectual exhaustivo con la intención de profundizar los lazos de amistad entre la Argentina y el Japón y lograr un mejor entendimiento entre las culturas de ambos países, tan distantes como cercanas, precisamente en una época en que los sentimientos anti-japoneses se habían extendido en todas partes del globo.

Abstract: This work focuses on an immigration which, in Argentina, has been neither the most populous nor the most popular, but possesses features that are eminently characteristic and distinct from the main immigration volume our country has attracted. We are talking about that of Japanese origins. We choose Yoshio Shinya’s figure, introducing him as the fi rst immigrant to come from the Empire of the Rising Sun, so as to verify his exhaustive intellectual labour in search of a deep friendship between the Argentine and Nippon people, during times in which anti-japanese feelings had spread throughout our lands. We demonstrate his eagerness to achieve a better understanding of both countries’ cultures, so distant and close at the same time.
