Una forma de pensar la diferencia (sóf. e. col, 337-60)

Abstract

Resumen: Nos parece que en los umbrales del siglo XXI la reflexión sobre la red de creencias, rasgos de personalidad, actitudes, sentimientos, valores, conductas y actividades que diferencian a mujeres de varones podría hacernos pensar en el producto de un largo proceso histórico de construcción social que no sólo genera diferencias entre los géneros sino que, a la vez, esas diferencias implican desigualdades y jerarquías entre ambos. Revisar los rasgos con que nuestra cultura deja sus marcas en la constitución de género supone una puesta en crisis de los paradigmas tradicionales sobre los cuales hasta ahora hemos construido los discursos acerca de la feminidad y la masculinidad. En tal sentido, esta ponencia aborda un análisis de las operaciones de la diferencia y de las formas en que se hace trabajar los significados en un texto de Sófocles, Edipo en Colono.

Abstract: We beliebe that at the outset of the twenty first century a reflection about the beliefs, personality traits, altitudes, feelings, values, behavior and activities which distinguish women from men could make us think about the product of a long social building historical process. This process generates differences between the two genders but, at the same time, those differences represent inequalities and hieerarchies between them. To review the features with which our culture leaves its trace in the constitution of gender means to question the traditional paradigms on which we have buit our discourse about feminineness and masculineness up to the present. In this sense, this presentation considers an analysis ofthe operations of the difference and of the formas in whicho meanings are put to woek in a text by Sophocles, Oedipus at Colonus.
