Proyección imaginativa, decepción y cambio: el principio de conservación y mutación de la energía social en Albert O. Hirschman

Abstract

Resumen: Este trabajo propone una relectura del principio de conservación y mutación de la energía social, en tanto núcleo del ensayo Getting Ahead Collectively (1984) de Albert O. Hirschman, a la luz de la concepción secuencial del cambio social a partir de las imágenes de cambio según The Strategy of Economic Development (1958), y de su profundización mediante el estudio de la dialéctica de la imaginación y la decepción que subyace a la sucesión cíclica de la acción social en Shifting Involvements (1982). Esta interpretación implica poner de relieve las particularidades del enfoque hirschmaniano en el análisis de la acción humana mediante el proceso de formación de expectativas de los agentes como así también de los factores volitivos y emocionales vinculados con la posibilidad y el sentido del cambio social.

Abstract: This work proposes a re-reading of the principle of conservation and mutation of social energy, as core of the essay Getting Ahead Collectively (1984) by Albert O. Hirschman, in light of the sequential conception of social change starting from the images of change according to The Strategy of Economic Development (1958), and its deepening through the study of the dialectic of imagination and disappointment that underlies the cyclical succession of social action in Shifting Involvements (1982). This interpretation implies to highlight the particularities of the Hirschmanian approach in the analysis of human action through the process of formation of expectations of the agents as well as of the volitional and emotional factors linked with the possibility and sense of social change.
