Abstract

Resumen: En ocasión de celebrar el bicentenario de la independencia argentina es bueno echar una mirada a la educación, en el seno de la cual se ha ido gestando la identidad argentina. La figura del maestro ha sido central para forjar a los ciudadanos del nuevo país, siendo la fuente del conocimiento y de las habilidades necesarias para una convivencia pacífica y operosa. Sin embargo, las nuevas tecnologías de información y comunicación obligan a repensar el rol del docente. Hoy es indispensable que las TIC se sumen con toda su potencialidad a la tarea educativa, no para reemplazar a los maestros, sino incorporando su capacidad de adultos para formar criterios frente a la abundancia y variedad de los contenidos. Los adultos a cargo tienen también la responsabilidad de formular y ayudar a que se formulen las preguntas más indispensables para encontrar la salida de los errores y defectos de nuestro mundo. Docentes y alumnos pueden ser ambos protagonistas de la creación de ese mundo nuevo.

Abstract: The bicentennial of the Argentinian Independence is a good opportunity to have a look at education, through which our identity as argentinians has been forged. The figure of the teacher has been central in shaping the citizens of our country, as the source of knowledge and the skills required for a pacific and fruitful coexistence. Nevertheless, the new technologies of information and communication make it necessary to revisit the roll of the educator. Today it is indispensable that the TIC contribute with all their potentialities to the task of education, not in order to substitute for teachers, but to incorporate their capacities as adults in the development of criteria to manage the abundance and variety of contents. Grownups in charge have also the task of posing −and helping others pose− the most basic questions regarding the way to overcome the mistakes and defects of this world. Educators and students can both be protagonists in the creation of that new world.
