Funciones ejecutivas y trastornos del lóbulo frontal

Abstract

Resumen: el tamaño desproporcionado de nuestros lóbulos frontales es una de las mayores características de nuestro sistema nervioso que nos diferencia de los primates. Cualquier articulo que intente revisar los conceptos actuales sobre los lóbulos frontales debería ser de interés para todo psicólogo. Avances en neuroimagenes funcionales, neurofisiología, y biología molecular en particular han producido un gran aumento de la literatura sobre los lóbulos frontales en las ultimas décadas. En esta revision sobre el lóbulo frontal nos hemos propuesto analizar el trabajo de diferentes investigadores sobre este tema.

Abstract: The disproportionate size of our frontal lobes is one of the major features of our nervous system that differentiates us from non-human primates, and so any article that proposes to review our current understanding of them will be of interest to psychologists. Improvements in functional imaging (both PET and MRI), neurophysiology, and molecular biology in particular, have led to a huge growth in the published work on the frontal lobes over the past decade. Thus, we have attempted to draw together the work of different researchers into this review on the frontal lobes.
