Modalidades asociativas en el teatro argentino desde la teoría de las representaciones sociales

Abstract

Resumen: Caracterizamos aquí algunas modalidades asociativas de creación, producción y gestión propias del teatro alternativo argentino, basándonos en la observación del trabajo de 20 dramaturgos-directoresactores cuya franja etaria oscila entre los 30 y 40 años. En un periodo que coincide con el impacto social del neoliberalismo y con la crisis financiera de 2001 se producen nuevas formas de interrelación dentro del sistema del teatro, se observa un viraje hacia un artista-gestor hábil en el desarrollo de diferentes estrategias asociativas, como escritura en colaboración, rotación de roles, participación en colectivos teatrales. Esas modalidades se sostienen en una común concepción del teatro y para dar cuenta de ella recurrimos a la teoría de las representaciones sociales (Moscovici; Rose y Efraim; Monchietti), la cual ha cobrado interés como una de las principales perspectivas en las ciencias sociales. Ella nos permite ver a los artistas como partícipes de un grupo que comparte un campo representacional que lo particulariza dentro del vasto ámbito teatral. El consenso en las representaciones sociales no es un acuerdo banal entre los participantes, ni está exento de tensiones o fragmentaciones, aspecto que ejemplificamos en relación con las estrategias de comunicación empleadas por estos artistas, como el recurso a los agentes de prensa.

Abstract: In this lecture we will define several associative modalities of creation, production and management in the Argentine alternative theater, based on a study of the work of 20 playwrights-directors-actors whose age ranges between 30 and 40. In a period that coincides with the social impact of neoliberalism and the financial crisis of 2001, new forms of interaction within the theater system occur. A shift can be observed to an artist-manager that develops several strategies of association, such as collaborative writing, the rotation of roles and the participation in theater groups. These modalities are based on a shared understanding of theater. In order to describe this collective theater conception, we will use the theory of social representations Moscovici; Rose and Efraim; Monchietti), which has gained interest as one of the major perspectives in the social sciences. This theory will allow us to see the artists as participants in a group that shares a representational field, which sets them apart within the vast theatrical field. The consensus on social representations does not stem from an agreement among participants and nor is it free from tension and fragmentation. We will exemplify this last aspect with the communication strategies employed by these artists, such as the use of press agents.
