Abstract

Resumen: Este artículo propone una reflexión acerca de la vital importancia de la memoria en el mundo griego. Sin ella no es posible el proceso de aprendizaje. Así lo demuestra el anciano campesino Estrepsíades en la comedia aristofánica Nubes cuando intenta aprender con Sócrates. También para Platón no existe conocimiento ni sabiduría sin ella. La memoria está presente desde los comienzos de la literatura: constituye el medio fundamental para la creación de la poesía épica. La inmortalidad se alcanza gracias a ella ya que cumple la máxima aspiración del ser humano: permanecer en la memoria de los hombres.

Abstract: This artic1e proposes a reflection about the vital importance ofthe memory in the Greek world. It is fundamental for the learning process, without her this is nor possible. Strepsiades, the rural old man of the Aristophanes' comedy Clouds, demonstrates it in his intent ofleaming with Socrates. Also for Plato, without memory it didn't exist possibility of knowledge and wisdomo The memory is present from the beginnings of the literature: is the means by which oral poetry is created. The immortality is reached thank to her who fulfills this way the maximum aspiration of the human being: to remain in the memory of the men.
