La música microtonal como fenómeno periférico en el siglo XX

Abstract

Este artículo analiza el fenómeno de la música microtonal occidental en el siglo XX, centrándose en la posición periférica que ha ocupado frente a otros desarrollos compositivos de aquel momento. A partir de diversos ejemplos que ilustran la recepción de esta música a lo largo del siglo pasado, se argumenta que dicho posicionamiento ha generado una serie de consecuencias que continúan influyendo en las investigaciones y concepciones actuales sobre esta temática.

This article analyzes the phenomenon of western microtonal music in the twentieth century, focusing on the peripheral position it has occupied in relation to other compositional developments of the period. Drawing on several examples that illustrate the reception of this music throughout the past century, the article argues that this positioning has generated a series of consequences that continue to influence current research and conception of this topic.
