Del Amor a la Fe y de la Fe al Amor

Abstract

Esta contribución, a los sesenta años de la Constitución Dogmática Dei Verbum del Concilio Vaticano II ofrece una reflexión sobre el don de la fe cristiana exponiendo su lógica paradojal y la progresión entre fe y caridad. La fe lleva al encuentro con Dios que se comunica en la historia y se revela plenamente en Jesucristo, la Palabra eterna que se hizo carne en la plenitud de los tiempos. Él responde al deseo del ser humano que quiere ser feliz, busca la verdad, anhela vida plena, tiene sed de Dios. A su vez, el amor es interior a la adhesión de la fe. Creemos porque amamos. Queremos el bien de unirnos a Dios, que se revela amando, y a quien recibimos. creyendo. La caridad es la forma de la revelación y de la fe. La adhesión creyente en la gracia responde al amor primero de Dios, porque solo el amor es digno de fe.

This contribution, sixty years after the Dogmatic Constitution Dei Verbum of the Second Vatican Council, offers a reflection on the gift of Christian faith, exposing its paradoxical logic and the progression between faith and charity. Faith leads to an encounter with God who communicates himself in history and reveals himself fully in Jesus Christ, the eternal Word who became flesh in the fullness of time. He responds to the desire of the human being who wants to be happy, seeks truth, longs for fullness of life, thirsts for God. In turn, love is interior to the adherence of faith. We believe because we love. We want the good of uniting ourselves to God, who reveals himself by loving, and whom we receive by believing. Charity is the form of revelation and of faith. Believing adherence to grace responds to the first love of God, because only love is worthy of faith.
