Abstract: The garden variety, the quantity and quality of the publications originated by and for the Centennial celebration reflect its importance and are its current testimony. Thus, their significance. They reflect not only what has been done at that time, but also the contemporary thought. They further reflect the knowledge, wishes and expectations of both the Argentine ordinary people and the most brilliant minds, and even the vision of the foreigners which visited the country at that time and expressed their impressions of Argentina and its people. These publications, made for the Centennial celebration but which were also originated in such event, encompassed a longer period than year 1910. The variety of the works published must be classified and those cases deemed the most important or representative of each category should be studied in order to show their significance and the interest they arose. In our opinion, it is a basic point to study such a special time of Argentina, which today, close to the second Centennial, seems not likely to take place again.
