El pasado santafesino en discusión: la polémica entre José Luis Busaniche y Carlos Agustín Aldao (1925-1926)

Abstract

Resumen: A mediados de la década de 1920 los autores José Luis Busaniche y Carlos Agustín Aldao mantuvieron una polémica historiográfica en torno del lugar que correspondió a Santa Fe y la época de gobierno de Estanislao López y los caudillos federales de las provincias en la organización de las instituciones políticas argentinas. El debate intelectual se desarrolló en una variedad de escritos que abarcó artículos académicos, libros y notas en la prensa local. Su examen con particular atención en las diferencias interpretativas de los contendientes y las fuentes que utilizaron para sostener sus argumentos, constituye el objeto de estudio del presente artículo. El trabajo se inscribe en la perspectiva de análisis de la historia de la historiografía regional y aporta elementos para restituir los procesos de conformación del campo historiográfico y de la identidad provincial en Santa Fe, donde las tradiciones familiares revelaron un peso considerable.

Abstract: In the mid-1920s, the authors José Luis Busaniche and Carlos Agustín Aldao maintained a historiographical controversy around the place that corresponded to Santa Fe and the time of goverment of Estanislao López and the federal warlords of the provinces in the organization of the institutions Argentine politics. The intelectual discussion developed in a variety of writings that included academic articles, books and notes in the local press. Its examination with special attention to the interpretive differences of the contenders, as well as the sources they used to support their arguments, constitutes the object of study of this article. The work is part of the analysis perspective of the history of regional historiography and provides elements to restore the processes of conformation of the historiographical field and the provincial identity in Santa Fe, where family traditions revealed an important weight.
