Presencia de la mariología patrística en la enseñanza del Papa Francisco

Abstract

Resumen: Con el siguiente artículo pretende hacer explícitas algunas de las fuentes patrísticas de la mariología del Papa Francisco. Puede resultar útil una reflexión que nos permita saber desde donde habla el Papa latinoamericano cuando se pronuncia sobre María, especialmente con relación al lugar que ocupa en la historia de la salvación. Veremos que presenta a María ante todo como mujer, madre y discípula a partir de los datos de la Sagrada Escritura y de la Tradición. Además, notaremos que no deja de seguir fundamentalmente las orientaciones del Concilio Vaticano II y las de sus predecesores. El Papa Francisco ofrece un aporte a la teología de María en la sabiduría de la continuidad, pero con la fuerte impronta del servicio que debe prestar a la fe del Pueblo de Dios.

Abstract: With the following article I intend to make explicit some of the patristic sources of Pope Francis’ Mariology. It may be useful to reflect on where the Latin American Pope speaks from when he speaks about Mary, especially in relation to her place in salvation history. We will see that he presents Mary first and foremost as a woman, mother and disciple on the basis of the data of Sacred Scripture and Tradition. Moreover, we will note that he does not fail to follow fundamentally the orientations of the Second Vatican Council and those of his predecessors. Pope Francis offers a contribution to the theology of Mary in the wisdom of continuity, but with the strong imprint of the service she must render to the faith of the People of God.
