La situación legal de Macià nos permitirá analizar aspectos sociales y culturales de un capítulo poco transitado del asociacionismo peninsular en Argentina a partir de la experiencia del exilio independentista catalán previo a la Guerra Civil española. Así contribuiremos al conocimiento de las identidades, los roles y las asociaciones que marcaron las relaciones y los contactos entre el contingente de exiliados con su tierra natal y con la problemática de su sociedad de acogida.; Abstract: Our contribution studies the way in which the exile of the Catalan politician Francesc Macià in Buenos Aires, in 1928, was handled in the Argentine press by a sector of the local Catalan community. The legal situation of Macià will allow us to study social and cultural aspects of a little analyzed chapter of the peninsular associationism in Argentina based on the experience of the Catalan pro-independence exile prior to the Spanish Civil War. We will thus contribute to the knowledge of the identities, roles and institutions that marked the relations and contacts among the contingent of exiles with their homeland, and the problems of their host society.
