Resumen: Resumen: Las imágenes estructuran cada vez más nuestras experiencias y nuestras vidas al punto de parecer sustituir la experiencia de la realidad. A continuación me gustaría discutir la pregunta planteada por Platón sobre si no tienen las imágenes un estatus deficiente y si no sirven, más que para la búsqueda de la verdad, para la manipulación de las convicciones y deseos humanos. (1.) Por ello haríamos bien en aclarar las condiciones de la conexión entre imagen y poder. (2.) Luego vincularé el concepto de imagen con una teoría del procesamiento humano de la imagen (3.). De este modo, intentaré mostrar que nuestro sistema cognitivo es capaz de procesar el contenido pictórico de un modo especial, aunque ambivalente. Esto se ilustrará con el ejemplo de la fotografía (4.).; Abstract: Images increasingly structure our experiences and our lives to the point of seeming to replace the experience of reality. I would like to discuss the question raised by Plato as to whether images do not have a deficient status and serve, rather than for the search for truth, for the manipulation of human convictions and desires. (1.) We would therefore do well to clarify the conditions of the connection between image and power. (2.) I will then link the concept of image with a theory of human image processing (3.). In this way, I will try to show that our cognitive system is capable of processing pictorial content in a special way, but ambivalent. This will be illustrated by the example of photography (4.).

Título: El método inductivo y su aplicación a la enseñanza del griego clásico; The inductive method and its application to the teaching of classical Greek Autor: Castello, Luis Á.; Vecchio, Ariel Resumen: Resumen: Este texto presenta la fundamentación del método inductivo para la enseñanza del griego clásico, creado por L. Mascialino y continuado por V. Juliá y sus varias generaciones de discípulos. Será presentada en tres secciones: en la primera se muestra la relevancia y la especificidad de la enseñanza del griego clásico, y una somera descripción del estatus de la disciplina gramatical en sus orígenes antiguos, cuya referencia inmediata fue la Téchne grammatiké de Dionisio Tracio. En la segunda se ponen de relieve algunos aspectos relevantes del método empleado que se basa en las estructuras compartidas de las lenguas indoeuropeas. En conexión, en la última se presenta brevemente la noción de indoeuropeo sobre el cual, entre otras cuestiones de peso, se monta el método inductivo y, a su vez, explica su especificidad y relevancia.; Abstract: This text presents the foundation of the inductive method for teaching classical Greek, created by L. Mascialino and continued by V. Juliá and his various generations of disciples. It will be presented in three sections: the first shows the relevance and specificity of classical Greek teaching, and a brief description of the status of the grammatical discipline in its ancient origins, whose immediate reference was Dionysius Thracian’s Téchne grammatiké. The second highlights some relevant aspects of the method used, which is based on the shared structures of Indo-European languages. In connection, the last one briefly presents the notion of Indo-European on which, among other weighty issues, the inductive method is mounted and, in turn, explains its specificity and relevance.

Título: Aportes de la polémica Wallis-Hobbes a las discusiones sobre los fundamentos de la matemática infinita; Contributions of the Wallis-Hobbes controversy to the discussions on the foundations of infinite mathematics Autor: Raffo Quintana, Federico Resumen: Resumen: En este trabajo se abordarán algunos aspectos de la polémica entre Wallis y Hobbes en torno de los fundamentos de la matemática infinita y del uso en general de infinitos e infinitamente pequeños en matemática. Así, luego de algunas aclaraciones iniciales sobre la aritmética de los infinitos de Wallis, nos centraremos en especial en tres ejes de esta discusión: la naturaleza de los infinitesimales y la validez de su uso en matemática; el número infinito y la suposición de lo que llamaremos “completitud de las series”; y concepción de que el “exceso” desaparece llevada la serie al infinito.; Abstract: In this paper we will deal with some aspects of the controversy between Wallis and Hobbes concerning the foundations of infinite mathematics and the use of infinite and infinitely small quantities in mathematics. Thus, after some initial clarification on Wallis’s arithmetic of infinities, we will focus particularly on three main topics of this discussion: the nature of infinitesimals and the validity of their use in mathematics; the infinite number and the supposition of what we will call “the completeness of the series”; and the conception that the “excess” disappears, taking the series to infinity.
